Network Access with PPPoEHardware InterfaceThe existing network connection in the dormitory is generally designed as twisted pair ethernet (10BaseT) with 100 Mbps, the connection socket as RJ45. The computers have to be configured to full-duplex (if necessary).You need a VCG account and a PPPoE client. Under newer Windows versions and for Macs, corresponding software packages are already included. For older Windows versions the client must be installed later. Under Linux there are several possibilities - the most common implementation for this is rp-pppoe.
